Types of Stretch Wrap Film

Stretch wrap or stretch film is a highly stretchable plastic pallet wrap film that is commonly used to wrap skids for shipping to secure items in place during transportation. The elastic recovery keeps the items tightly bound. It is frequently used to unitize pallet loads but also may be used for bundling smaller items.

Hand Stretch Wrap Film

Also referred to as hand film, hand stretch wrap, hand wrap or manual pallet wrap. It is typically utilized in lower volume packaging operations, and the most commonly used film. However, the efficiency of manual pallet wrapping packaging should be regularly reevaluated against potential benefits of upgrading to a machine wrapper. Choosing the right stretch wrap dispensers will result in more efficient and cost effective packaging operations. 

Machine Stretch Wrap Film

Machine Grade Stretch is designed to be applied with a machine, also known as a pallet wrapper. Some advantages over hand film include: faster and more efficient palletizing, reduced packaging material costs, safer application, and more secure loads. Common machine stretch film types: cast machine stretch film, blown machine film, and colored machine grade stretch.

Pre Stretched Film

Pre-Stretched Film is stretched close to its ultimate breaking point prior to being wound onto rolls. The film does not require as much stretching energy as the standard stretch film to accomplish the same wrapping force. Pre-stretched film consumption can be one half of that of traditional stretch films, allowing for vast cost savings.

Extended Core Stretch Film

Extended core hand grade stretch film eliminates the need for a dispenser by providing you with an easy to grip extended core. Hand stretch film is an economical replacement for tape and strapping materials and in many cases will outperform these types of packaging products. The core is 100% recyclable and disposable after use.
